About Texture Press
About Us: The Texture of Transformation
Welcome to Texture Press, a dynamic literary hub where the written word meets the digital frontier. Based in Norman, Oklahoma, and led by Managing Editor Susan Smith Nash, Ph.D., Texture Press has spent decades weaving a rich tapestry of diverse voices, experimental forms, and global perspectives.
Our Legacy
Since our inception, we have been dedicated to publishing high-quality, thought-provoking works across a vast spectrum of genres:
- Poetry & Flash Fiction: Capturing the essence of the human experience in brief, powerful bursts.
- Novels & Short Fiction: From the gritty realism of Nathan Leslie’s Van Boyle to the imaginative realms of contemporary prose.
- Essays & Online Learning: Bridging the gap between creative expression and the evolving landscape of digital education.
A New Direction for 2026
As we move into 2026, Texture Press is evolving into a multimodal storytelling platform. We believe that literature in the 21st century is not just read—it is heard, watched, and experienced. Our new vision focuses on interaction and expansion:
- Deepening the Narrative: We are significantly expanding our catalog this year to include new memoirs, poetry collections, and fiction. These works are selected specifically for their ability to spark conversation and offer deep explorations of identity and place.
- Multimedia Integration: Literature now lives beyond the page. We are integrating links to podcasts (Ophelia’s Gold), video interviews, and performances. Explore our author spotlights—featuring Van Hartmann, Valerie Fox, and Nathan Leslie—on Life Edge (Relatecasts) and E-Learning Corgi.
- Global Translations: We are proud to bring vital, underrepresented voices to a global audience by republishing the works of Paraguayan women writers.
- Interactive Essays: Our forthcoming essays on online learning and digital culture are designed to be “living documents,” encouraging readers to interact, respond, and contribute to the evolving dialogue.
